More About me

Hello, I’m Leona Johnson, and I am a transformational life coach. My passion is facilitating both individuals and groups through powerful processes to bring about positive change. I love helping people uncover the blockages they didn’t even know existed and creating breakthroughs. I love seeing people find their true essence and light. I love supporting people to build resilience and thrive in ways they never knew possible.
In the Myers-Briggs Personality test, I am an ENFP. An ENFP is extremely perceptive in understanding how individuals and groups function. They tend to make others feel at ease and draw them out of their shells. This makes them a natural coach as they are passionate, interested in the development of others, and often motivated by work that is consistent with their values and beliefs and the betterment of humanity.

My Story

As a child I was rudely awakened to global systemic inequality at 5 years old after watching children starving on the news. It really was my first memory and it affected me greatly. Driven by this, my motivation as a teen and young adult was to find meaning and purpose beyond what was expected of me and beyond what society told me was possible.

This journey took me on many twists and turns along the way.

I began as an artist wanting to make a statement but soon got disillusioned. I spent time as a front line activist and learned a lot about collective self-organising, systems thinking and alternative ways of being and organising.

For 10 years I was a Professional Child Protection Social Worker accross Greater Manchester in a variety of teams, operating in the community and as a trainer and project leader. This meant working in multi agency settings, under statutory and third sector agencies and in both universal and specialist services. This was intense and important work. I was committed to social change but I realised after a while that the system was simply maintaining the status quo and I knew I wanted to have more impact in making positive change in our world.

I became acutley aware of what is now called disconnection sickness. It was all around me. Not only with those I worked with but in myself and my own struggles to find purpose and belonging. My challenges both personally and professionally forced me onto a journey of self discovery and transformation.

In my quest I became a community organiser. I traveled to Gaza, behind the blockade, to work with children affected by trauma. I traveled to a Refugee Camp in Greece and set up women’s safe spaces and communication strategies between soldiers and residents of the camp. I facilitated numerous temporary autonomous zones for creativity and learning. I started to run informative empowerment training on emergent culture and personal strategies for creating transformation.

After becoming a Mother, in 2011, I realised that my action needed to be more grounded in my community at home. My focus became creating solutions rather than battling the struggles of the world.

I became involved in alternative education provision both as a parent and organiser supporting the Home Education and Steiner Education Provision where I live.

In 2012 I became a founder member of Live Wild CIC which is a collective of Forest School Leaders and Outdoor Nature Mentors who came together to create more opportunities for people to live closer to nature in a more connected culture. Live Wild is a great success and still runs amazing high quality training and events for children and adults in the Calder Valley where we live.

My Grounded Spirituality

In recent years I have been inspired to go deeper. What is our true nature as human beings? How can we awaken to our highest potential? What is consciousness? How can understanding our inner world help us awaken and live more fully with our one wild and precious life?

I am now a rites of passage facilitator, ceremonialist as well as a transformational life coach. I love it. This work makes sense to me. I have supported people time and again to step into the fullest expression of themselves in a way that they had previously never been able to imagine. I know what it means to live in flow. I know what it is to guide others to find that for themselves.

This silent revolution that is happening everywhere is what is going to create the shift to a better world. This is what is needed.
